Alex, finally, finished building two large towers, and numerous smaller buildings, after a week of work. He ran into the living room "It's done! I finished building a large city!" He blinked "Oh, hi, Phoenix.."

Phoenix pushes Ice's hand out of the way, "Draws you in... how to put it?" He thinks for a moment, before revealing the book. It look like a teenage girl romance novel, "It changes?" Phoenix whispers, then looks at Ice and Alex, "Um.. well..."

"No!" He smacked the towers, smashing and breaking them, and knocking the rest off the table where they smashed to pieces, and slid to the ground, trying not to be overwhelmed by his emotions, something else obvious bothering him, as he almost never got that upset over something.

Ice paused as he heard Alex smash the buildings. "Uh... I'll be right back." He went to the kitchen. "Alex? C'mon man, what's wrong?"

Alex began clearing up all the broken toothpicks, a few tears falling silently, mad at himself for destroying his little city. He threw it all away, picking up his phone and sliding it into his pocket, wiping his eyes, and stepping out into the living room.

"Well, you come back... as the character you were. But not just you, all of you. Every single one, in every possible dimension. And well, you relive the story for a bit, I guess, before you die"

"So, it's a cursed book?" Ice clarified. "Why did you bring it here, then?"

"To show you, somewhat. I found it, and well, it's addicting. It can give you a whole new life!" Phoenix says, shouting (This is to get Alex interested)

Phoenix picks it up, and hesitantly hands it to ice, "Okay, thanks... it's just... you can get a whole new life, and everything... odd"

Alex looked at the book, and his heart skipped a beat. It was a romantic novel, and he was a sucker for those "Lemme see it, Ice. What's the back of it say?" He asked, since on the back of most books, it said a little about it.

Ice looked over at Alex. "Well, I'm not sure... if you want to take a look, go ahead, by like Phoenix said, don't read it," He said, handing it to Alex

Alex nodded, reading the back, seeing it was about three friends, one of them pregnant. His heart skipped a beat again, and he re-read it, muttering a single word from it aloud without realizing it "Pregnant..."

Alex flipped it over, running his hand over it, not hearing them. Three friends in school, living together, one of them pregnant. That's all the back said, but one phrase was stuck in his head, One of them pregnant. "I've got to open it..."

"Alex! NO!" Phoenix shouts, as the area around the three turn black. Phoenix stares in shock, as he feels his body being molded, and falling at the same time. He continues to change, before hitting something hard, and blacking out

A boy noticed that he was awake and ran over. "Kim, you okay? You hit the floor pretty hard," He said. "Do you need help getting up?" Meanwhile, Ice was starting to sit up. A few people helped him, too, but he ignored them, still trying to figure out what just happened.

Alex was leaning against the wall when he opened his eyes, just outside a small crowd of students, a woman in a nurse outfit standing in front of him "Are you ok? Your friends blacked out, and pulled you down with them, and you hit your head pretty hard off the floor. Do you feel any pain?" The nurse asked as she reached forward, her hands pressing on Alex's middle, though it was sooner than he expected, and he felt rather large. He looked down and gasped, seeing that he was female, and pregnant, feeling the baby or babies inside him squirming and responding to the nurse's touch, speak-less.

Ice leaned up against the wall, trying to clear his head. He looked around, trying to figure out where he was, and where the other two were. As he did, strands of blonde hair got into his face. Startled, he brushed them aside, and looked down, paling. Meanwhile, the boy said, "I called you Kim. That's your name, remember?" He looked at Kim, worried. "Just how hard did you hit your head?"

"Pretty darn good," Kim says standing up a bit. She weaves a bit, and walks over to Lexi, sitting by her, "How are you?"

Lexi shook her head "No, I feel fine..." She murmured softly to the nurse, looking at another girl who sat behind her "Do..do I know you?" She was confused, and feeling very very alone right now "Please say you are Phoenix or Ice..." She whispered so the nurse didn't hear.

Nothing's hurting on you, and you don't have a headache or anything? You need to tell your sister Kim to be nicer to Lexi." Lexi nodded to Allison, sniffling a bit still "Y..yea, it's me, Lexi..."

"I'm fine," She told the nurse. Allison sighed. "Well, Phoenix, looks like you were right. We're stuck here... and it looks like that book was a biggie, too." She glanced around. "I think we're sisters, too..."

"A few purses. And my learner's permit. I live at your house..." Kim searches through the other purses, pulling out two driver license, "Yep. you and me are sisters. And Lexi here lives at our house too. But she has a different last name"

"We'll worry about turning back when we get back home," Allison said. "We could probably use something from our labs to do it. Let's just concentrate on getting to the end of the back, okay?"

Lexi shrugged "my butt is a little sorry from falling on it." Then, she whispered "I don't really wanna turn back..." The nurse called the principal, talking with him for a few minutes, then hung up the school phone "He said he'll be here to drive you guys home in a couple minutes."

"At the moment, no. But we did pass out, so we have time for us to learn some facts later!" Kim whispers, afraid she was pregnant too

I'm her aunt, and I've been helping her along." The principal knocked on the door, sticking his head in "Excuse me, ladies? Ready to go home?"

Lexi sniffled, laying down on the couch and picking up on of the small pillows on it, holding it tightly in her arms. "Ch..cheer up. I need to be happier, I'm pregnant, and gonna have two lovely little babies soon..." She smiled weakly, talking to herself.

"Classic pregnancy deal. Nobody likes a pregnant girl, and gives her crap. And I think we lost Alex's mind in the switch. But I just hope it's the hormones effecting her."

"Either way, I guess we're the protector/friends that have their own issues to deal with," Allison said, nodding. "But you didn't answer my question: What did you see in the car?"

Lexi closed her eyes "And..and we're Alex, Ice, and Phoenix, but...we also girls now..so we are also Lexi, Allison, and Kim...so...then who are we..." She was making her head hurt with all the thinking.

"...I don't know," Allison said. "I wonder, if you went over to your house, if you would meet up with yourself?" Allison asked. She walked to the basement, curious about her lab.

"I saw a family come out. Kids about 3 and 1. They look like they been there for awhile. So, what about your lab?" Kim says, following, and avoid lexi at the moment

"Not here," Allison said with some dissappointment. "It's just a regular basement. Makes sense, not giving us a shortcut home," She said.

"So, now what? We try to do stuff normal girls do? What if one of us has a slip up?" Kim thinks, "And to make matters worse, I am a few years younger than you!"

Lexi heard them going into the basement, and her paranoia began acting up. Her friends were avoiding her, so maybe they weren't really her friends? They were just doing this out of pity, that's all. She didn't want to be a burden them. She sat up, and with a bit of difficulty, managed to stand up, getting in her purse and finding paper and a pen, leaving a note saying she was going to the Woman's Shelter, so they didn't have to take care of her, and stuck it to the inside of the door, leaving the house.

Allison nodded sadly. "This isn't going to be easy. In fact, it's probably going to be the hardest thing we've done in a while. If we knew what these versions of us had done, before we took control, it might have been easier. Of course, there's always the danger we actually become the characters in the book... and if you're right, Alex may well be on his way to being replaced by Lexi."

Her eyes filled with tears 'But they're my friends, they wouldn't do that...' The voice responded 'Yes they would, they only take care of you because they're scripted to, by the book.'

She muttered, not seeming to be talking to Kim.

Allison bit her lip. "Alex," She said. "You've got to listen to us, okay? I know we're in a confusing situation, but we need all of us on the same page, so to speak. We care about you, okay? And we need you to stay with us." She hoped that that worked.

Lexi gulped, knowing she shouldn't leave, but something in her mind telling her to do so "Alright then..." She slipped off her necklace, and earrings, setting them down on the table "Pay for all your troubles..." She turned towards the door, grabbing the door knob.

You're leaving behind people who geniuinly care, and leaving the hands of you and your children to people who don't really give a shit. Which one you choose is up to you. I just thought you ought to know what you're giving up."

"You're going to stay with us. You're going to be happy, and you're going to do it right now." She took Lexi's hand. "Because we do care about you."

Allison followed shortly behind Lexi, freezing only for a moment as she registered the scene. "FUCK!" She shouted, running to a closet and grabbing some towels. She ran back to Kim's room, diving to the floor as she pressed the towels up against Kim's cuts. Grabbing the knife out of her hand, she threw it away. "What the hell were you thinking?" Allison shouted at her. Glancing at the cuts, she winced. "Why?" She asked, seeing that Kim was in no mortal danger.

Allison read, shocked as it detailed the end of the book. It seemed to be true. She flipped near the beginning, reading through earlier that day and even the current situation. ("This is the book,") She thought. ("This is the book that brought us here.") She stood, slamming it closed.

Allison stared at the book, then placed it near them. She went back to Kim and knelt down. "Of course it's not true," Allison said soothingly. "Its... it was a trick, an illusion. It's trying to break us."

"Well, the bleeding seems to have slowed down," She said. "I'll be right back to grab the first aid." She stood, then noticed Lexi. "On second thought... Kim, you know where the bandages are, right?"

The baby in the crib was a little girl, and was born with no problems with it what so ever.

"Neither of us read the whole thing," Allison said. "Heat of the moment." She pulled out the book, still with some blood stains, and opened it to a marked page. "See? Right here, she's alive." She flipped it to another part. "And right here, where it says you get stabbed with a knife? It says you live." She flipped to the end. "Right there, see?" Allison pointed to a conversation. "You do end up hospitalized, though..."

Lexi ignored her, being selective on what words she erased and replaced, editing the ending to a more happier one. "I couldn't remove the pregnancy, but the dad of the baby dies overseas and leaves you a huge life insurance thing...Your babies come out fine, and we live happily ever after."
